ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, Ph.D., GCON, has congratulated former Kaduna State Governor and former Senator, Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi, CON, on his 70th birthday.
Speaker Abbas, in a congratulatory message issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, described Makarfi as one of the “leading political leaders of the state and the North-West geopolitical zone.”
He also described the former governor as an elder statesman and “a democrat par excellence,” commending his contributions to the peace, unity and development of Kaduna State.
According to the Speaker, Makarfi’s contributions have transcended political, religious and ethnic divides, leaving a significant impact on the people of the state and beyond.
“Senator Makarfi remains one of the leading political leaders of Kaduna State and the North-West geopolitical zone. His contributions to peace, unity and prosperity have been felt across political, religious and ethnic divides,” Abbas said.
The Speaker prayed to Allah (SWT) to grant Makarfi many more years in good health and continue to strengthen, bless, guide and protect him.
Makarfi served as Governor of Kaduna State from 1999 to 2007 before proceeding to the Senate in 2007, where he represented Kaduna North Senatorial District.
He also served as Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), among other national political positions.
