Super Falcons Retain Top Spot in Africa, Ranked 36th Globally in Latest FIFA Rankings

Nigeria’s Super Falcons continue to dominate African women’s football, securing the No. 1 spot on the continent and ranking 36th globally in the latest FIFA Women’s World Rankings released this week. The team amassed 1,630 points, solidifying their position as Africa’s most successful national team.

Globally, reigning World Cup champions Spain hold the top position with 2,066 points, narrowly edging out the United States, who are ranked second with 2,065 points. Sweden sits third with 2,025 points, while UEFA Euro champions England are ranked fourth with 2,022 points.

South Africa – 54th globally | 1,465 points

Morocco – 64th globally | 1,407 points

Zambia – 65th globally | 1,402 points

The Super Falcons’ strong showing at recent international competitions, including the FIFA Women’s World Cup and WAFCON, has helped maintain their dominance on the continent. The rankings also reflect the growing competitiveness of African teams, with Morocco and Zambia making steady progress in global positioning.

The next FIFA Women’s World Rankings will be released on December 11, 2025, as national teams prepare for qualifiers and upcoming international tournaments.
