A 40-year-old Nigerian national, Obinoze Alexander, has been arrested for allegedly killing a fellow citizen identified as Flora Gold in South Delhi, India. The body of the woman was found wrapped in bedsheets and tucked away in a box bed on Friday, April 28, 2023.  DCP (South) Chandan Chowdhary said that they received a PCR call from a person who claimed that a foul smell was coming from inside a flat in Maidangarhi.  “The caller said that a foul smell was coming from a flat on the third floor of the Sriman apartment. The flat has been closed for the last three days,” DCP Chowdhary said.  After a police team rushed to the spot, they found that the flat was locked.  The owner of the flat was called and the door was opened with the help of a key maker. “The body of a woman was found wrapped in bedsheets in the box of double bed in the right side room of the flat, a 2 BHK,” he said.  The owner said that he rented out the flat in December …

Soludo was reacting to killings in Okpuno in Awka South Local Government Area and Obosi in Idemili North Local Government Area. The News Agency of Nigeria reports that four youths identified as Onyiebo Okoye, Kenechukwu Okeke, Jude Ebenezar and Obinna Maduka were killed in Okpuno community on Jan.1. The commercial motorcyclists were allegedly killed for violating the ban on their operations between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. “The allegation is false. ….Breaks Father’s Leg A 25-year-old resident of Ambassador Quarters in Katsina State identified as Najib Shehu has killed his stepmother and broke his father’s leg.  The incident according to the police occurred on August 18, 2022, at about 1600hrs after the culprit had a misunderstanding with the stepmother Asiya Mohammed ‘F’, aged 60yrs of the same address. The police spokesman SP Gambo Isah in a statement on Thursday said the suspect went into the kitchen, grabbed a pestle, and hit her several times on the head. She sustained head injuries from this and was confirmed dead by a medical doctor. He added that the suspect had in the spur of the moment also hit his father’s leg several times with the said, leading to many fractures. To this end, the suspect has been arrested and he also confessed to the commission of the offence. The said pestle has been recovered as an exhibit and an investigation is ongoing.

Villagers flee as seven killed over alleged witchcraft in Adamawa community

Police in Adamawa have confirmed the killing of seven people over allegation of witchcraft at Dasin Bwate village in Fufore Local Government Area of the state. Police spokesman in the state, DSP Sulaiman Nguroje, confirmed the development to the News Agency of Nigeria on Wednesday in Yola. Nguroje said that the incident occurred on Tuesday, adding that an investigative team had been deployed to the village. “Seven people were killed in Dasin Bwate village in Fufore LGA over witchcraft allegation. “The police have deployed investigation team into the village,’’ Nguroje said. ICRC identifies over 2,000 families with missing relatives in AdamawaHe, however, said that when the team arrived the village on Wednesday morning, the residents, including the village head had deserted the community. Nguroje said the team found the seven unidentified corpses in one of the houses in the village. Scores feared killed, several injured as tanker rams into Ibadan market

Abuja – Scores of people were feared dead with several others injured on Sunday when a fully loaded gas tanker lost control and rammed into traders and passers-by around Bode market, Molete Ibadan. The Nation learnt the tanker coming from Idi-Arere lost control before swerving into the market. It ran over some traders in the market, killing some instantly and injuring others. DRC gov’t says previous report of fresh volcanic eruption false alarm

Kinshasa – The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) government has described as false alarm a previous report on Saturday of fresh volcanic eruption in Goma region in the eastern part of the country. DRC’s Ministry of Communication and Media confirmed the falsity of the report in a tweet, using the hashtag “false alarm”. “A plane just flew over the entire area of the flanks of the volcano. No eruptions were found. “Rather, it was intense carbonisation activities of charcoal wood, the smoke of which was perceived as a volcano activity,” it tweeted. In a previous tweet, the ministry announced “a low-intensity volcanic eruption is reported in the northern flank of the Nyamulagira”. The tweet now cannot be found on its Twitter account.
