By EMMANUEL OGEBE Renowned Nigerian Bishop Kukah has been unjustly but expectedly vilified by the Buhari regime for speaking the truth about the horrific Nigerian situation before the US Congress. However to put things in proper context, as one who has testified numerous times in congress myself and been subjected to even worse attacks by the Buhari regime including the plot to revoke my Nigerian passport (see attached exhibits), I am providing below excerpts of what else was said at the Congress. On The State of Religious Freedom Around the Globe, in a 10-page Statement of Rev. Bob Fu, PhD., Founder and President of China Aid Association finished his remarks with followingConclusion:“Regardless of China’s attempts to block information on persecution from reaching the outside world, ChinaAid’s research shows that religious oppression continues to increase with each passing year since 2017. As China advances its plan to Sinicize Christia nity and other religions with forced indoctrination of Communism ideology, authorities all over the country are interfering with normal religious operations and arbitrarily detaining and arresting hundreds of thousands of religious believers …

It also expressed solidarity with the NLC in the ongoing strike to checkmate what it called the state government’s growing excesses and abuse of privilege. The group’s position was contained in a statement on Wednesday by its spokesperson, Abdul-Azeez Suleiman. The statement was titled ‘CNG lauds NLC, warns El-Rufai against rights breaches’. The group also warned El-Rufai against escalating tensions with unguarded utterances and action. It also faulted what it called the growing practice of deploying non-state actors against peaceful processions by some political leaders in the state and commended the police for “refusing to compromise professionalism when state-sponsored thugs unleashed violence on workers who were merely protesting impunity”. “We are watching events as they unfold and for the avoidance of doubt, if the governor insists on pursuing the path of brigandage to suppress the ongoing civil action by workers, he would certainly be called to account for any unforeseen eventuality. “While we restate our …

America risking break with Turkey as Biden prepares to declare massacre of Armenians a ‘genocide’

Abuja (Precise Post) – President Joe Biden is preparing to declare the massacre of an estimated million or more Armenians under the Ottoman Empire a “genocide” this week, risking a potential fracture with Turkey but fulfilling a campaign pledge to finally use the word as President to describe the mass killings after a series of his predecessors stopped short. Two people familiar with the decision said the President was expected to make the declaration as part of an official statement on Remembrance Day, which falls on Saturday. Both said it was possible he would change his mind before then, and issue a statement merely recognizing the event without describing it as genocide. US officials have also sent signals to allies outside the administration who have been pushing for an official declaration that the President will recognize the genocide, a third person familiar with the matter said. The government of Turkey often registers complaints when foreign governments describe the event, which began in 1915, using the word “genocide.” They maintain that it was wartime and there were losses on both sides, …

From 1st to 3rd World: The USA Trump Would Bequeath to Biden

By Magnus Onyibe,  When Donald J Trump’s tumultuous presidency ends on January 20, 2021, he would be handing over to president-elect, Joseph R Biden, a United States of America (USA), that has degenerated from first to third world. That is remarkable because the trend has always been for a country to move from third to first world as reflected by the case of Singapore, the island country, which leaped from first to the third world as documented in a book titled “ From Third To First World: The Story of Singapore, written by Lee Kuan Yew, that country’s most famous leader under whose watch the country experienced the phenomenal leap forward. There is a legion of reasons that the USA which Trump will be handing over to Biden would be a third world. And it is simply because after about four (4) years of Trump’s presidency, the USA that was the acclaimed leader of the democratic world; and the foremost defender of political and social liberalism; the most advanced society economically, which is a prime position that it has proudly …

Malala Maiwand:Targeted Killings of Journalists on the Rise Across Afghanistan

KABUL — Malala Maiwand sat on a television studio couch, pen and notebook in hand, a dark red headscarf framing her face. She was hosting a morning talk show in the city of Jalalabad, in eastern Afghanistan. The topic was rising insecurity in the region, and her guest was a police spokesman. Maiwand got straight to the point. A recent killing had taken place in broad daylight and in plain sight of police, but the killer had escaped. “What is your answer to this?” she asked the man. Though just 26, Maiwand was known for holding officials to account, especially on issues of corruption, and her show on Enikass TV had become one of the most popular in the eastern part of the country. But on Dec. 10, just a few weeks after the interview aired, she was shot dead, along with her driver, when unknown gunmen fired on their vehicle as she headed to work in Jalalabad, a bustling city of some 350,000 and the capital of Nangahar province. The brazen daytime assassination was one of the latest in …

#EndSARS: Panels of Inquiry Set Up By Governors Are Legal – Falana

By Ogechi Okorie Abuja (Precise Post) – A human rights lawyer and a senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN), says governors did not breach the law by setting up judicial panels of inquiry in their respective states. Falana was reacting to arguments that have ensued about the constitution of panels of inquiry by the governors. Many people – including lawyers – have argued that panels set up by the governors to probe police brutality are illegal because they do not have such powers. Recall that thehe governors set up these panels in the aftermath of demonstrations against police brutality which lasted for 12 days in October. In a statement on Tuesday, the lawyer noted that the setting up of panels of inquiry are not items on the exclusive or concurrent list as contained in the constitution.
