ABUJA (PRECISE POST)  –  The Taraba State chapter of the Accord Party has affirmed Prof. Jerome Nyameh as its governorship candidate ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The affirmation was announced by the party’s returning officer for the gubernatorial primary, Hamman Mohammed, in the presence of officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Mohammed declared Nyameh the Accord Party gubernatorial candidate after his nomination was ratified by party delegates at the exercise held in Jalingo.

Nyameh’s nomination followed a motion moved by Mr. Gabriel Njoka and seconded by Mr. Stephen, which was unanimously adopted by the gathering.

Responding shortly after his affirmation, Nyameh said he was ready to rescue Taraba from what he described as years of bad governance and mismanagement of resources.

He lamented that despite abundant natural and human resources, the state had remained underdeveloped while its wealth was being squandered.

“Today mark another moment in the lives of our great state. It is a moment that the people of Taraba State have decided to make a change for the betterment of the State.

“Our resources have been scatter away. Your decision to make a change is a decision for a better Taraba. I want to thank you sincerely for nominating me and agreeing to run for governor of Taraba State under Accord Party,” he said.

Nyameh outlined his plan to tackle the state’s debt burden and development challenges through what he called the ‘3Rs Principle’ which is Recovery, Resource Utilisation, and Re-negotiation.

He also unveiled the ‘Taraba THERAPY’ initiative, promising to engage youths productively and steer them away from negative activities.

“We are going to do great things by using the Taraba THERAPY where young men and women will be engage positively, we will not engage you in becoming Data boys,” he added.
