JALINGO (PRECISE POST)   –   The All Progressives Congress in Taraba State has again vowed to participate in the November 2025 Local Government elections in Taraba State.

During the introduction/presentation of its Chairmanship and Councillorship candidates in Lau on Tuesday 22 September, 2025, the party insisted that inspite of the various obstacles placed by the PDP-led State government against the opposition parties, APC was ready to avail its citizens another opportunity to disgrace the government, in view of its poor performance.

On the other hand, PDP have been invariably handed free forms and seemles processes to participate in the election.
He stated that despite this undemocratic posture, the party has encouraged its members to fill candidates for all the positions in the council, as a way of making a statement in the event of attempts by the State Government to rig or manipulate the process and disenfranchise the people.

Mr. Fidelis Francis, challenged the government to allow a free and fair elections as a way of gauging the feelings of the people or understanding the level of support for its stewardship, adding that the people were already disenchanted with the poor performance of the state government.

Speaking on behalf of the other candidates, the Chairmanship Candidate, Hon Haruna Idris Emir, said that, they were aware that the state government may not allow a free and fair elections, but that they would not allow the government the luxury of merely filling forms and announcing fake results.

Hon Haruna Emir lamented the deplorable condition of Lau, the Local Government headquarters, which has almost been eaten up by erosion, while the Local Government offices remain under lock, following the failure of Council staff to attend to their offices.

The APC Chairmanship Candidate stated that the people have already given their assurances to turn out massively to vote out PDP from the Local Government and urged them not to relent in this commitment.
