Jalingo, – The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Taraba Command, has called on well-meaning individuals and organisations to show support, love and care for road traffic crash victims in order to ease the pains.This is contained in a press statement by Corps Commander Selina Williams, the Taraba Sector Commander of FRSC, in commemoration of the World Day of Remembrance of Road Traffic crash victims in Jalingo.According to the statement, the 2022 event would run from Nov 15 to Nov 20 with a series of activities to enlighten the public on safety measures.She noted that the 2022 remembrance day has its theme: “justice” and the slogan is captioned “remember, support and act”.Williams enjoins well-meaning individuals to join the Corps to sympathize with and show love, support and care so as to ease the pains of crash victims and to comfort them.“We also pledge the corps’ readiness to enlighten the public on the need to be safety conscious and render rescue services to all victims of road crash.“The command will move from park to park and equally engage the youth on Wednesday, Nov. 16, and Thursday, Nov. 17, for elaborate enlightenment and involvement at Futur Hope Academy, Jalingo,” she said.Williams noted that though the records of road crashes in the state has significantly reduced owing to the continuing public enlightenment, enforcement, stakeholders collaboration and state government’s ongoing road construction work, the motoring public needs to be more careful.She said carelessness, recklessness, worn out tyres, speeding and dangerous overtaking are major causes of accidents and must be avoided by all.Williams wished all Taraba people a crash-free Yuletide and new year in advance.
