ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – The Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas has ordered a recertification of all land titles in the State to ensure that all landed property documents are upto date and in compliance with current regulations.
Mr Joshua Mark, the Director General of
Taraba Geographic Information Systems (TAGIS), disclosed this in a statement issued in Jalingo on Sunday.
He said that the exercise which will last for a period is Six months will attract penalty fee at the end of the period for those who fail to avail themselves during the stipulated time frame.
“The Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has approved the recertification of all Certificates of Occupancy (C of Os) in Taraba State. This important exercise is aimed at ensuring that all landed property documents are up to date and in compliance with current regulations.
“We urge all landed property owners to take this matter seriously and ensure that their Certificates of Occupancy are recertified within the stipulated time frame to avoid any penalties” the statement reads in parts.
Our Correspondent reports that this is the first time such exercise will be carried out in the State, following the settling up of TAGIS to replace the Bureau for Land and Survey.
