ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the deployment of 65 ambassadors to Nigerian missions across the world and to the United Nations.
The ambassadors — made up of 31 non-career political appointees and 34 career diplomats — were confirmed by the Nigerian Senate in December 2025.
The approval was announced on Friday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, who said the envoys would represent Nigeria in key diplomatic missions globally.
Key Non-Career Appointments
Among the prominent political and public figures appointed as ambassadors and high commissioners are:
Grace Bent – Lome, Togo
Ita Enang – South Africa
Reno Omokri – Mexico
Femi Fani-Kayode – Germany
Jimoh Ibrahim – Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations
Isaac Folorunso Adewole – Canada
Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau – China
Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas – Philippines
Olufemi Pedro – Australia
Lateef Kayode Are – United States
Other political appointees include Nora Ladi Daduut (South Korea), Angela Adebayo (Portugal), Chioma Ohakim (Poland), and Jerry Samuel Manwe (Trinidad and Tobago).
Career Diplomats Also Posted
The list also includes 34 career diplomats assigned to several strategic missions. These include:

Shehu Ilu Barde – Ghana
Aminu Nasir – Ethiopia

Others were posted to missions in countries including Algeria, Senegal, Malaysia, Belgium, Switzerland, Kenya, Iran, Morocco, Tanzania, and Namibia.
Agrément Received From UK, France
According to Onanuga, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Nigeria) has already received agrément from the United Kingdom for High Commissioner-designate Aminu Dalhatu, while France has also approved the appointment of Ayodele Oke as Nigeria’s ambassador.
He added that the ministry has forwarded the nominations of the remaining 62 envoys to their respective host countries for diplomatic consent in line with standard international practice.
President Tinubu has also directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to immediately begin the induction programme for all ambassadors-designate and high commissioners before they assume duties at their respective missions.
