Tinubu Hails Babatubde Ogala @63rd Birthday

ABUJA – President Bola Tinubu on Monday heartily congratulated Mr. Babatunde Ogala (SAN), OFR, on the ocassion of his 63rd birthday.

According to President Tinubu’s goodwill message as contained in the statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President (Media & Publicity), Ajuri Ngelale made available to Precise Post, Mr. Ogala is a renowned lawyer, statesman, and a fierce champion of the rule of law and good governance.
 
He is the former National Legal Adviser of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former member of the Lagos State House of Assembly.
 
President Tinubu joins family, friends, party stalwarts, and the legal community to celebrate an exceptional Nigerian whose brilliance shines forth like a lamp on a hill and whose passion for the pursuit of justice and noble causes remains ever fervent. 
 
The President thanks the Senior Advocate of Nigeria for his support, sacrifices, and efforts towards building a more prosperous nation.
 
President Tinubu prays for God’s unceasing grace, good health, and strength for Mr. Ogala and his family.
 
Precise Post recalls that Babatunde Ogala was born to the Ogala family in Lagos State on the 15th of July, 1961.

He began his Elementary education in Lagos at the Holy Cross School from 1967-73 and proceeded to St. George’s College, from 1974-79 for his Secondary education.

Upon completion of his studies, he enrolled at the University of Jos, where he studied Law from 1980 to 1985 after graduating with Honors from the University, he went on to the Nigerian Law School where he graduated and was called to Nigerian Bar in 1986. As a lawyer, the young Babatunde Ogala SAN started his career with the Fonzzy Associates Limited, Lagos, continued in the law firm of Chief Fola Akinrinsola & Co, Lagos; Femi Okunnu (SAN) &Co (Solicitors) and G.M. Ibru & Co, Lagos to mention a few where he distinguished himself as a brilliant Legal Practitioner. He was also the General Counsel (Legal Adviser) of Guardian Press Limited.

In 1997, he established the Law Firm of Babatunde K. Ogala (rebranded and named Babatunde Ogala & Co in 2011)which grew in reputation over the years. In 2007 he ventured into politics and was elected a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly. He was also the Chairman of the House Committee on Judiciary, Member of the Finance Committee; Committee on Public Accounts; Committee on Ethics, Protocol and Privileges; Committee on Human Rights and Public Petition; Committee on Infrastructure as well as several ad-hoc Committees a position he held till 2011.

In 2014, Mr. Ogala was the Consultant to the Lagos State House of Assembly and Conference of speakers. He has also been a Resource person to the Houses of Assembly of Lagos and Kogi State on Constitutional matters. In 2018, Mr. Ogala returned into Politics and became the National legal Adviser of the All Progressives Congress; a position he held till June, 2020.
