JALINGO : Two students of the Federal University Wukari, Joshua Sardauna from the Economics Department and Obianu Elizabeth of the Microbiology Department have regained freedom from their abductors after almost ten days in captivity.
The Head, Information and Protocol Unit of the institution, Mrs Ashu Agbu, who disclosed this on Friday did not provide details of how the duo regained their freedom from the abductors who were demanding ₦50Mn ransom.
Agbu simply disclosed that “on a good note, I am pleased to inform you that the two students of the Federal University Wukari who were kidnapped last week regained their freedom last night after spending days in the hands of their abductors”.
Our Correspondent recall that the two students were abducted on Wednesday, April 3 at about 10:pm at a shop close to the school when suspected herdsmen invaded the area and unleashed terror, shooting sporadically and sending students scampering for safety.
The students are said to have returned to the school to re-sit some papers they could not clear when they were abducted.
