Why 2027 General Elections Will Be Difficult to Rig – Nyame

ABUJA (PRECISE POST)  –  The gubernatorial candidate of the Accord Party in Taraba State Professor Jerome Nyame on Friday said that the 2027 general elections will not be business as usual as the last few years have taught Nigerians tough lessons and they are now more determined to be fully involved in the process of recruiting new leaders for the country.

Nyame who stated this while interacting with journalists in Jalingo said that the voter apathy and nonchalance from voters that politicians took advantage of in the past to rig elections has become a thing of the past as electorates are fully mobilised to not only go out to vote but to protect their votes and make sure they count.

He said that with recent experience, most electorates have also risen above tribal, religious and party sentiments and will vote credibility and competence over bigotry.

“I can tell you for free that 2027 will be a major shocker for Nigerians especially the political class. There is a silent revolution that is going on and will manifest at the polls. Nigerians have now realised that the only way they can hold leaders accountable is by participating actively in the recruitment process itself.

“And so you will not see the prevalent voter apathy that we experienced in previous elections. And this time, they will not only come out to vote but they will protect their votes and make sure they count. Take it from me because I am fully in touch with the people.

“Another thing most electorates have now come to terms with is the fact that a bad government will make bad decisions that will affect everyone irrespective of political, religious, or ethnic affiliation. In the past, this was the Trump card for most politicians who had nothing to ride on except sentiments. Now Nigerians want issues based campaign. They need practical solutions to the challenges confronting the nation. That is why my team and I have a well articulated document detailing how we would salvage Taraba State.

“Also, Nigerians now realise that our leaders deliberately impoverish people and weaponise poverty to be used as a factor to compel votes. The electorates are now wiser. I can tell you that they know this is their money and when you fill it out during campaign, they will collect it and still vote for better candidates” he noted.

Nyame urge all players in the forthcoming elections to play by the books and strongly advise youth not to avail themselves as thugs for any politician.
