Ronaldo and Rodríguez got married on 11 August 2026. The couple’s marriage comes nearly a decade since they first met at a Gucci store in Madrid, where Rodríguez worked as a sales assistant.

The ceremony took place at the couple’s summer house in the Portuguese coastal resort of Cascais, near Lisbon. It was an intimate occasion, with the couple’s five children and four witnesses in attendance.

Speaking during an interview with Vogue, Rodríguez explained that the decision to marry in their living room was deliberate. She said her childhood idea of a perfect wedding had changed considerably as she grew older and built a family with Ronaldo.

“As a little girl, I envisioned the grandest castle, the most magnificent carriage, the longest gown and a crown adorned with diamonds,” she said.

“Now, I find myself saying: no. I desire something intimate, shared with my partner and our children, in the comfort of our home. We have access to castles, houses, islands, horses, and cars every day. However, an intimate gathering is something more unique for us.

“We chose to hold the ceremony in our living room, the place where we share breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and where we experience our daily lives.

“In 30 years, I want our children to remember that something wonderful occurred at this table, the wedding vows of our parents.”

For the wedding, Rodríguez wore a white silk Gucci skirt suit with satin shoes, while Ronaldo opted for a light beige suit and custom loafers.

According to Demna Gvasalia, Gucci’s artistic director, the choice of Gucci was also symbolic because it was at the fashion house’s Madrid store that Rodríguez first encountered the footballer in 2016.

“It felt incredibly special to dress Georgina and Cristiano for this moment, knowing their love story began in a Gucci store in Madrid. There is something so romantic about it—a beautiful circle closing, almost like a modern fairy tale,” he said.

Despite the ceremony’s simplicity, the couple will hold a larger reception with relatives and friends later.

“In the future, we will have a big wedding, so we can celebrate with family and friends,” she said.

Ronaldo and Georgina made their relationship public in 2016. They tied the knot exactly one year after announcing their engagement. The couple had sealed the engagement with an oval-shaped diamond ring weighing approximately 35 carats.
