ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has expressed satisfaction with the progress of several ongoing infrastructure projects across Abuja, declaring that a number of the projects are ready for commissioning.
Wike made the remarks Tuesday on his X handle after inspecting major road and urban renewal projects, including the Renewed Hope City Access Road in Karsana District, the Old Keffi Road linking Dei-Dei and Life Camp, the Airport Road to Kuje Highway 105, the Phase 1 of the Kuje to Gwagwalada Road, and the Abuja City Gate remodeling project on Monday.
According to the minister, the Renewed Hope City project in Karsana, designed to provide access to thousands of affordable housing units within the FCT, has reached 98 per cent completion.
He described the project as critical infrastructure that would support the expansion of affordable housing and improve access within the district.
Wike also disclosed that the 17-kilometre Old Keffi Road stretching from Kado Village and Life Camp junction through the Dei-Dei axis has been cleared for commissioning.
He explained that the road would significantly improve connectivity for densely populated communities such as Saburi, Gwagwa, Idu and Karmo by linking them directly to the Outer Northern Expressway (ONEX), thereby reducing travel time for commuters.

The minister further commended the pace of work on the FCT Highway 105 from Airport Road to Kuje, noting that the Phase 1 of the Kuje to Gwagwalada Road has already been completed.
He said the projects had transformed the visual outlook and transportation network within the Kuje area.
On the ongoing Abuja City Gate remodeling, Wike revealed that the project, initiated by Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, is on schedule for formal handover by early June.
He added that the remodeling would provide Abuja with a modern and more welcoming entrance befitting the nation’s capital.
