No One Can Rig Rivers Election in 2027 – ADC Candidate Pidomson Hits Back at Wike

The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, in Rivers State, Dr. Gabriel Pidomson, has warned that no individual or group will be allowed to rig or impose a governor on Rivers people in the 2027 general election.

Pidomson was reacting to recent comments credited to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, who boasted that the APC will win both the governorship and presidential elections in Rivers State in 2027.

Speaking on Thursday, October 2, the ADC candidate said Rivers State is not a private estate and the 2027 election will be a direct battle between the people and political godfathers.

“The 2027 election is not just between Pidomson and the others. It is going to be Rivers people versus others,” he declared.

Rivers State is nobody’s private estate. It is our common patrimony.”

We Will Eclipse Their Rainbow

Pidomson also took a swipe at the Rainbow Coalition, the political bloc associated with Wike, dismissing its influence ahead of the polls.

“On the so-called Rainbow Coalition, well, they have the right to boast everywhere. I can assure you that the real people are not with them. And we shall eclipse their rainbow next year,” he said.

According to him, Rivers people are “morally angry” over what he described as the dominance of one political figure in the affairs of the state and are ready for change.

The ADC candidate further challenged Wike to list a single project he has attracted to Rivers State since becoming FCT Minister, arguing that the minister’s political camp has nothing to show for its continued influence.

Pidomson insisted that 2027 will not be about political structures or federal might, but a referendum by Rivers people on who should lead them.
