Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has declared his unwavering resolve to resist any form of electoral malpractice ahead of the 2027 general elections, pledging that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and its coalition will deliver transformative leadership to Nigerians.
In a statement posted via his official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Saturday, Atiku expressed confidence in the growing momentum of the opposition coalition after meeting with Gombe State stakeholders led by former Minister and Senator Idris Abdullahi.
“The hardship in Nigeria is no longer bearable,” Atiku stated. “Enough is enough. Nigerians cannot continue to suffer amid so much potential. It’s time to reject rigged elections and break the cycle of failed leadership.”
Atiku blamed years of systemic corruption and poor governance for the country’s ongoing struggles, stressing that the ADC coalition offers a credible alternative powered by vision, integrity, and people-centered policies.
“The quality of leadership within the ADC today shows we are ready to offer Nigerians a fresh path. We will restore trust in public office and provide a government that truly works for its citizens,” he said.
He thanked the Gombe delegation for their show of loyalty and support, describing their endorsement as a powerful boost to the coalition’s grassroots drive.
“The stakeholders recalled how I supported the rise of Danjuma Goje as governor of Gombe in 2003. That legacy of progress still resonates. Together, we can build a future that works for all Nigerians,” Atiku added.
The statement signals growing political realignment ahead of the 2027 elections, with the former VP positioning the ADC-led coalition as a formidable force for change.
