ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – The New Nigerian Peoples Party 0 in the February 25, 2023 general election, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso on Saturday visited the former Governor of Osun state and ex-Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola at his residence in Lagos preparatory to the 2027 presidential race.

According to the former Kano State Governor, who disclosed this on his X account, their discussion centered on national politics, governance, and the future of Nigeria’s democratic landscape.

Precise Post recalls that speaking at a national conference recently in Abuja on strengthening democracy in Nigeria, former Kaduna state Governor Nasir El’Rufai took a swipe at his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), accusing it of abandoning its founding principles and fostering poor leadership.

He criticized the quality of leadership emerging from political parties, attributing it to unqualified delegates.

El-Rufai claimed he no longer reckoned with his party, the ruling All Progressives Congress, saying it has become a ‘zero-man show.

”The former governor also urged opposition parties to unite and form a broad coalition to challenge the ruling party and protect democracy.

In the same vein, the former minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi also charged Nigerians to be prepared to defend their mandate in the forthcoming 2027 election, warning that politicians, including the current president, will not cede power easily.

All of these scheming and realignment are geared towards looking for a way to democratically unseat the incumbent the same way political parties and politicians from different ideologies ganged up and defeated the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that held power at the centre for more than twenty years.

Similarly, in defence of his party and APC-led federal government, the Senator representing Ondo South, Jimoh Ibrahim, last week said President Bola Tinubu is not losing sleep over the recent criticism of his administration by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, erstwhile Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, and the immediate past Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi.
