Benin City (Precise Post) – Edo state Governor, Godwin Obaseki has charged the Director General, Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu to set necessary guidelines to regulate the conduct of political rallies and elections in the face of the #coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic ravaging the country.
He made the call in Benin City, Edo state capital when he received the DG and his team who visited him in Government House.
Governor Obaseki disclosed this in series of tweets through his official twitter handle @GovernorObaseki.
The tweets read:
“During a visit by the Director-General of the NCDC, Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu, I charged theNCDC to set necessary guidelines to regulate the conduct of political rallies and elections in the face of the #coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic ravaging the country.
“We understand the pressures the NCDC is facing in terms of the national response therefore, as much as possible, we as a state try to play our own little part and not add to the pressures.
“The NCDC has provided guidelines and models in establishing our governance framework to the #COVID19 response. We appreciate their input and support.”
