BIRNIN KEBBI – The Executive Chairman of Kebbi Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Alhaji Faruk Yaro-Enabo, has solicited for the cooperation of the media for a successful 2025 Hajj exercise.

Yaro-Enabo made the plea when he received the newly-elected state officials of the Correspondents’ Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) who were on a courtesy visit to his office in Birnin Kebbi on Thursday.

While stressing the need for close collaboration with journalists, the executive chairman observed that the media remained a veritable tool for effective and efficient information dissemination.

Enumerating some achievements of the agency, Yaro-Enabo recalled that Kebbi was adjudged the best pilgrims agency in terms of everything during the 2024 Hajj exercise.

Consequent upon this, he said that the agency received three different awards in 2024.

“We want to maintain the tempo. As I am talking now, we are over 90 per cent prepared for the 2025 Hajj exercise.

“We have secured basic travelling allowance (BTA) for our intending pilgrims 100 per cent; visas are almost 100 per cent ready and yellow cards almost completed, among other preparations,” he said.

The executive chairman assured that his doors were always open for possible suggestions and advice on ways to take the agency to next level of development.

Yaro-Enabo appreciated Gov. Nasir Idris for providing an enabling environment to the agency to operate smoothly for the betterment of intending pilgrims from the state.

This, according to him, has culminated in the huge success recorded by the present leadership of the agency.

Earlier, the Correspondents’ Chapel Chairman, Alhaji Kabiru Amiru-Wurma, told the executive chairman that they were ready to work hand-in-hand with the agency.

Amiru-Wurma congratulated Yaro-Enabo for introducing different innovations which had transformed not only the agency but also its workforce for effective and efficient service delivery.

“These initiatives introduced by the executive chairman have placed the agency above other agencies across Nigeria in terms of performance, which led to the receipt of different awards last year.

“This is marvelous; we hope you will do everything humanly possible to sustain the tempo.

“It’s worth mentioning that you have transformed the agency by reconstructing the hitherto dilapidated structures in the Hajj camp,” he stated. (NAN)
