ABUJA (PRECJSE POST)  –   Finally, the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Joash Ojo Amupitan, has pledged to rebuild public confidence in Nigeria’s electoral process, assuring citizens of his commitment to safeguarding their votes.

Precise Post recalls that his reaction is coming against the backdrop of public protest on Wednrsday organised by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and some Nigerians, calling for the resignation of the INEC Boss over alleged conspiracy and bias.

Speaking on his priorities on his X handle on Saturday, Amupitan emphasized that restoring trust in the system remains his foremost objective. He acknowledged widespread skepticism among Nigerians regarding the credibility of elections, noting that many have lost faith in the process over time.

The INEC chairman, however, assured that his leadership would focus on reversing this trend through deliberate reforms and strategic actions aimed at improving transparency and accountability.

“My priority is simple,” he said. “I will work tirelessly to restore your trust and protect your vote.”

Amupitan’s remarks signal a renewed commitment by the electoral body to strengthen democratic processes and ensure that every vote counts in future elections.
