The ‘Akpi’ crooner made the challenge during a recent interview with Hip TV, where he said he was ready to put a huge sum of money on the proposed bout if Burna Boy accepted to fight him.
Speed Darlington, known for his outspoken personality and controversial comments, said he wanted the proposed fight to be a physical contest rather than another exchange of words between the two entertainers.
“I challenge Burna Boy to fight me. I will drop a huge sum just to fight him. I want to fight him. I will beat him. He’s all hype. He can’t beat me. Just because some people like his music doesn’t mean he can beat me. I am challenging him,” he said.
The singer dismissed the idea that Burna Boy’s popularity, musical achievements or large following would give him an advantage in a physical confrontation. According to him, success in the music industry does not automatically translate into superiority in a fight.
The challenge is the latest development in the long-running exchanges between the two artistes, which have repeatedly attracted attention on social media and among their fans.
Speed Darlington’s challenge follows previous boxing controversy
Speed Darlington had previously made controversial allegations concerning Burna Boy and embattled American rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs. He alleged that Burna Boy had an illicit affair with Diddy in exchange for his Grammy Award.

The latest challenge also comes months after Nigerian singer Portable claimed that he had defeated Speed Darlington in a boxing match and received a financial reward from Burna Boy.

Portable claimed that Burna Boy gave him the money because he defeated Speed Darlington, who had been trolling the Grammy-winning singer over his alleged relationship with Diddy and the circumstances surrounding his Grammy Award.
The claim by Portable added another dimension to the public exchanges involving the three artistes, with the alleged boxing encounter becoming part of the wider controversy.
Speed Darlington’s latest comments indicate that he is now seeking a direct confrontation with Burna Boy, rather than another indirect clash involving a third party.
