The official Premier League platform recently highlighted the exclusive group, featuring six goalkeepers who have found the net in the competition since its inception, PUNCH Online reports on Monday.
Aston Villa goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel became the first when he scored against Everton in 2001.
Schmeichel rose at the back post and volleyed home from a corner to become the first goalkeeper to score in the Premier League.
Five other goalkeepers have since joined the exclusive club.
2. Brad Friedel
Friedel became the second Premier League goalkeeper to score when he found the net for Blackburn Rovers against Charlton Athletic in 2004.
The American goalkeeper scored a late equaliser from inside the box.
3. Paul Robinson
Three years later, Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Paul Robinson scored one of the most unusual goals by a goalkeeper in the competition.
Robinson’s long-range free-kick against Watford in 2007 bounced over goalkeeper Ben Foster and into the net.
4. Tim Howard
Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard scored from inside his own half against Bolton Wanderers in 2012.
With the aid of the wind, Howard’s long-range effort travelled over Bolton goalkeeper Ádám Bogdán and into the net.
5. Asmir Begović
Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begović scored against Southampton in 2013, finding the net just 13 seconds into the match.
The effort, struck from his own half, travelled the length of the pitch and went over Southampton goalkeeper Artur Boruc.
The goal was recognised at the time as the longest in professional football.
6. Alisson Becker
Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson became the sixth Premier League goalkeeper to score when he headed home a 95th-minute winner against West Bromwich Albion in 2021.
His goal helped Liverpool secure a crucial victory in their pursuit of Champions League qualification.
From Schmeichel’s volley for Aston Villa to Alisson’s late header for Liverpool, the six goalkeepers remain part of one of the Premier League’s rarest scoring clubs.
