ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – The President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, during the Senate plenary session, debunked reports circulating on social media that he had posted a tweet responding to former U.S. President Donald Trump’s alleged threat of military action against Nigeria.
In the viral post, Akpabio was purportedly quoted as saying, “Christians were not complaining.” However, the Senate President firmly denied making such a statement or responding in any way to Donald Trump’s comments.
Senator Akpabio stated that he had already directed the Nigeria Police Force Cybercrime Unit and the Department of State Services (DSS) to identify and apprehend the individual behind the fake tweet. He also revealed that his legal team had been instructed to take immediate steps to file a formal petition against the impersonator.
Describing the false publication as “capable of causing friction, division, and hate in the country,” Akpabio cautioned the public against spreading misinformation or attributing false statements to public officials.
He reiterated his commitment to promoting unity and truth, emphasizing that those responsible for creating or sharing false information would face the full weight of the law.
