UMUAHIA- Mr Obinna Ichita, the Country Director/Principal Representative for German Initiative for Knowledge Transfer in Nigeria, has lauded President Bola Tinubu’s robust initiative to check insecurity and corruption in Nigeria.The commendation is contained in a statement issued by Ichita on Thursday and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Umuahia on Friday.
Ichita also congratulated the president on the successful celebration of his first anniversary in office.
He stated: “It is my prayer that under his leadership, Nigeria will emerge prime investment destination and an indispensable player in the global field.
“I commend the security strategies put in place by the president and for his efforts to institutionalise transparency in governance.”
He said that having reversed to the old National Anthem, both the Government and the citizenry should “reflect on the wordings of the national anthem so as to build a peaceful and prosperous homeland, where no one is oppressed”.
He appealed to the president to “intervene and direct the commencement of processes for the release of all agitators, including the Leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu”.
Ichita, who represented Aba South Constituency in the Abia House of Assembly from 2019 to 2023, also urged Tinibu to initiate a programme that would lead to a national dialogue for genuine reconciliation of differences to foster national unity, economic stability and national security”.
According to him, this model is in tune with the president’s 4-D diplomacy and is most likely to yield a predictable outcome as discussions will replace agitations.
The Deputy Governorship Candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance in the 2023 General Elections also congratulated Gov. Alex Otti on his first anniversary celebration as Governor of Abia.
“I pray that his administration will jumpstart the economic development of Abia and showcase to the world, the entrepreneurial ingenuity of the people.
“The infrastructure development of the state under his watch is quite commendable and represents a visible shift towards the path of development,” he said. (NAN)
