Approval for Maize Importation vs Boarder Closure: Shehu Sani Bemoans Policy Inconsistency of FG

Abuja (Precise Post) – Senator Shehu Sani has bemoaned the policy inconsistency of President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government, the latest of which he alleged is the approval of importation of maize amidst the boarder closure.

Shehu Sani who took to his twitter handle @ShehuSani to raise the alarm, noted that to close the borders in the name of boosting local agriculture and now approving the importation of 262,000 tonnes of maize by the CBN is a contradiction.

Precise Post recalls that due to acute shortage of maize for poultry farmers and to meet local demand, government through the Central Bank of Nigeria ordered importation of 262,000 tons of maize to close the gap.
