April 2026 Report: NNPC Posts 79% Revenue Surge as Oil Production Rises, AKK Pipeline Advances

ABUJA (PRECISE POST)  –  The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has reported significant improvements in its operational and financial performance, recording a 79.23 per cent increase in revenue and a 7.69 per cent rise in crude oil and condensate production in its latest monthly report.

According to the report released on Saturday on the official X handle of  NNPC , crude oil and condensate output rose to 1.68 million barrels per day (mmbopd), up from the figures recorded in March 2026. Gas production remained largely stable at 7,730 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscf/d), representing only a marginal decline from the 7,731 mmscf/d reported in March.

The company attributed the improved performance to sustained operational efficiency and ongoing investments across the oil and gas value chain.

The statement also highlighted the successful completion of the OB3 River Niger Crossing project, describing it as a major milestone in strengthening Nigeria’s gas infrastructure and enhancing domestic gas supply.

The report further disclosed steady progress on construction and installation activities along the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline mainline, with efforts focused on achieving early gas delivery to Abuja in 2026.

Financially, the national oil company recorded revenue of N4.971 trillion during the period under review, representing a 79.23 per cent increase compared to the March 2026 report. Profit after tax stood at N481 billion, reflecting a 74.28 per cent growth over the previous reporting period.

In addition, NNPC reported cumulative statutory payments of N3.714 trillion between January and April 2026, underscoring its contribution to government revenue and economic development.

The report also outlined several strategic initiatives undertaken during the period, aimed at boosting production, improving operational efficiency and advancing critical energy infrastructure projects.

The compny said the achievements demonstrate its commitment to ensuring energy security, driving economic growth and delivering sustainable value to stakeholders while supporting Nigeria’s long-term energy transition goals.
