ABUJA (PRECISE POST)  –   Comrade Babalola Lukman Babalola, Publisher of Emporium Reporters Online, has emerged winner of the Most Outstanding Parliamentary Reporter (New Media) category at the 2026 HallowMace National Legislative Awards.
Babalola, who is also a member of the National Assembly New Media Forum and publisher of Emporium Magazine and Emporium Online TV, was honoured for his sustained excellence in parliamentary journalism and consistent coverage of activities at Nigeria’s National Assembly. This was contained in a statement signed by Newton Ikhabomen Ibrahim, General Editor of Emporium Reporters, on May 15, 2026 made available to Precise Post.
The HallowMace National Legislative Awards, organised by HallowMace Africa, celebrate individuals and institutions that have demonstrated exceptional commitment to legislative reporting, governance, transparency, and public accountability.
The 2026 awards ceremony is scheduled to hold on July 9, 2026, at the NAF Conference Centre and Suites, Jahi District, Abuja, with former President of the Senate during the Third Republic, Ameh Ebute, expected to chair the event.
Other categories at the awards include recognitions for lawmakers in both the Senate and House of Representatives, Speakers of State Houses of Assembly, parliamentary staff, and legislative aides. Winners were selected through public voting and consultations with members of the National Assembly Press Corps.
In the parliamentary reporting category, Oyediya Agwu Nancy Urum of AIT and Joke Adisa of TVC were also recognised for their outstanding coverage of the Senate and House of Representatives respectively, alongside Babalola in the New Media category.
Among lawmakers recognised for legislative performance are Senators Enyinnaya Abaribe, Adams Oshiomhole and Opeyemi Bamidele, as well as members of the House of Representatives including Chike Okafor and Bamidele Salam.
Speakers of State Houses of Assembly from Anambra, Delta, Oyo, Niger, Bauchi, and Jigawa states were also recognised for their contributions to legislative governance.
The organisers noted that the awards are being held in collaboration with the International Goodwill Ambassador Club, ERGAF Africa, and the Isabella Ayuk Foundation to promote transparency, accountability, and performance-driven recognition within Nigeria’s democratic institutions.
According to the organisers, the initiative serves as a “national audit of performance” aimed at encouraging excellence in governance and legislative engagement.
The statement was signed by Newton Ikhabomen Ibrahim, General Editor of Emporium Reporters, on May 15, 2026.
