ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – Former federal lawmaker that represented Bayelsa East Senatorial District in the 8th National Assembly and media entrepreneur, Senator Ben Bruce, has denied reports claiming that he withdrew from or was disqualified from a contest within the All Progressives Congress, describing the publication as “fallacious.”
Bruce, in a statement released on his X handle on Monday, addressed to Punch Newspaper with the attachment of the newspaper report, said he was surprised to see the report published on the platform, prompting him to personally contact the APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, for clarification.
“I have neither withdrawn nor been disqualified,” Bruce stated.
He cautioned media organisations against prioritising speed over accuracy in their reportage, especially during what he described as “very fluid times” in the political space.
According to him, “It would be in the best interest of journalistic excellence to exercise caution and verification, rather than utilise speed in your reportage.”
Bruce concluded the statement with prayers for Nigeria, saying, “May God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
