Abuja (Precise Post) – The National Examinations Council (NECO) has put Nigerians on notice that it has not advertised for any recruitment of staff in any section of the media.
NECO made the clarification following recruitment scam trending online capable of deceiving unsuspecting public.
A statement by the council’s head of information and public relations, Malam Abdulzeez Sani, yesterday said NECO attention has been drawn to an on-line publication purporting that the council is planning to recruit new members of staff.
“The council enjoins members of the public to disregard the publication as it has no plan to recruit new staff. We also wish to state very strongly that the publication is the product of the imagination of fraudsters who are out to defraud unsuspecting members of the public,” he added.
It stated that NECO under the present leadership of the acting registrar/chief executive, Abubakar Mohammed Gana, and the governing board under Dr. Abubakar Saddiq Mohammed are on the same page with the next level mantra of the present administration of President Muhammadu Buhari which epitomizes transparency, adherence to due process, and zero tolerance for impunity, and as such NECO will not do anything contrary to the mantra.
It will be recalled that NECO has been a target of job fraudster over the years, a situation applicant attributed to lack of transparency in the recruitment process.
