ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has paid glowing tribute to the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, on the occasion of his birthday, describing him as a loyal friend, courageous leader and dedicated public servant.
In a heartfelt message released on Thursday on his Facebook page, Fani-Kayode recounted decades of friendship with the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, tracing their relationship back to their childhood days in Lagos and London during the 1970s and 1980s.
According to him, Gbajabiamila has remained steadfast, sincere and loyal to his friends throughout the years, qualities he said have defined his personal and political journey.
Reflecting on their early political experiences, Fani-Kayode recalled Gbajabiamila’s outspoken nature and his willingness to challenge established views, noting that the Chief of Staff had always demonstrated courage in speaking his mind regardless of the circumstances.
He also highlighted Gbajabiamila’s enduring loyalty to President Bola Tinubu, describing his support for the President from the days of the June 12 struggle and the National Democratic Coalition (NADECO) through Tinubu’s tenure as Governor of Lagos State and eventual emergence as President.
The former minister praised Gbajabiamila’s service in public office, noting that he had distinguished himself through commitment, leadership and dedication to national development.
Fani-Kayode further commended the former Speaker’s devotion to family, particularly his late mother and wife, saying that behind his often stern public image lies a compassionate and caring personality.
Recalling several memorable occasions they shared over the years, including birthday celebrations and political milestones, Fani-Kayode said he had long believed Gbajabiamila was destined for greater leadership roles, a prediction he said was fulfilled when he became Speaker of the House of Representatives and later Chief of Staff to the President.
He expressed admiration for Gbajabiamila’s achievements in public service and thanked God for preserving their friendship over the decades.
Offering prayers for the celebrant, Fani-Kayode wished him many more years of good health, peace, prosperity and continued service to Nigeria.
“You have done us proud and, by God’s grace, you shall continue to go from strength to strength,” he stated.
