Breaking: PDP National Secretariat Shut Down Amidst Leadership Crisis as Chieftain Issues Strong Warning

by Joy: News Admin

The National Secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at Wadata Plaza, Abuja, has been shut down amid rising tensions within the party, forcing the postponement of a scheduled meeting of the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT).

When Blueprint correspondent visited the scene, personnel of the Nigerian Police Force and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) were stationed at the premises to maintain order and prevent any breach of security.

Security operatives also partially cordoned off the roads leading to the secretariat, restricting access and further escalating concerns over the party’s internal crisis.

According to a reliable source within the PDP, the increased security presence is linked to the growing factional disputes within the party, which have intensified in recent weeks.

Blueprint further reports that two rival factions within the PDP had earlier released conflicting statements ahead of the crucial 100th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting scheduled for Monday, June 30, 2025.

As tensions mount, senior party stakeholders are expected to intervene in a bid to restore unity and stabilize the party’s leadership structure.
