CBN Data: Nigeria’s Forex Reserves Rise to $40.16 Billion, Highest Level in Over Two Years

ABUJA (PRECISE POST)  –   Nigeria’s foreign exchange reserves have surged to their highest level in over two years, rising from $37.20 billion on July 1, 2025, to $40.16 billion as of August 7, according to data published by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on its official website.

This marks a significant milestone for the country’s external reserves, which stood at $32 billion. largely encumbered, when President Bola Tinubu assumed office on May 29, 2023. Since then, the reserves have grown by over $8 billion.

The latest figures are being viewed as a strong indicator of improving economic stability and effective reserve management by monetary authorities.

Analysts say the uptick in reserves could support the naira, strengthen investor confidence, and enhance the country’s ability to meet its external obligations.
