Lagos – The Principal, Queen’s College, Lagos, Mrs Tokumbo Yakubu-Oyinloye, has urged students of the college not to be deterred in achieving their life ambition, in the face of current health crisis around the world.
Yakubu-Oyinloye made the plea in a statement on Wednesday in Lagos, to commemorate the Children’s Day celebration.
She said the students had what it takes to be leaders that would take the country to its desired height.
The principal urged them to remain focussed in achieving their life goals, irrespective of any form of challenges.
“Today, I join the rest of the world in felicitating with you, our great Queens, knowing full well that you are not relenting in doing what is expected of you in this critical phase of our national life.
“You must hold steadfastly to our morals and values as our future leaders so as to pass on the torch still burning very bright.
“Continue to aspire for a better, brighter future, while ensuring that you adhere strictly to the safety measures as rolled out by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and focus on your studies,” she said.
Meanwhile, the College Parent Teacher Association (QCPTA), while felicitating with the students, assured them of its support in ensuring that the girls distinguished themselves morally and academically.
The Chairman of the association, Mr Damola Adewuyi, in a message urged the girls not to limit their dreams.
”Your bright future, keeps glowing brighter as you reflect the values instilled in you as Queens and to continue passing on the torch of ‘Excellence and Greatness.
“I pray for you all, that you remember whom you are, stay focussed, shun all acts capable of compromising your future.
“Do more of critical thinking at this period and remain diligent,” he said. (NAN)
