Ado-Ekiti (PRECISE POST) – With the Ekiti State governorship election fast approaching, the Director of EKSU Alumni Diaspora Mobilisation, Mr. Ope Alebiosu, has endorsed Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji for a second term, calling on residents to vote for continuity and sustained development in the June 20, 2026 poll.
Alebiosu made the appeal in a statement released ahead of the election, where he commended Governor Oyebanji’s administration for what he described as purposeful leadership, inclusive governance, and a commitment to sustainable development across the state.
According to him, the governor’s policies have fostered unity, strengthened accountability, and prioritized people-oriented programmes that have translated into tangible progress in various sectors of the state’s economy.
Describing the forthcoming election as a defining moment for Ekiti, Alebiosu said voters have a responsibility to safeguard the gains recorded under the current administration by supporting Oyebanji’s re-election bid.
“The June 20 election is more than a contest for leadership. It is a decision about preserving stability, protecting development gains, and securing a shared vision for Ekiti’s future,” he stated.
The EKSU Alumni Diaspora Mobilisation Director noted that support for the governor continues to grow among alumni associations, professional groups, community leaders, and Ekiti indigenes living abroad, reflecting what he termed a broad consensus that the state is making steady progress under Oyebanji’s leadership.
He expressed confidence that a renewed mandate would enable the administration to consolidate ongoing projects while introducing new initiatives aimed at accelerating development and improving the welfare of citizens.
Alebiosu outlined key areas that he believes should form the focus of a second term, including infrastructure development across the 16 local government areas, expanded economic opportunities for youths and entrepreneurs, increased investment in education and healthcare, enhanced agricultural productivity, digital innovation, and stronger collaboration with the diaspora community to attract investment and expertise.
He also urged residents to participate peacefully in the electoral process and exercise their civic responsibility by voting on election day.
“Every vote cast on June 20 is an investment in continuity, progress, and our collective aspiration for a more prosperous Ekiti State. I urge all eligible voters to come out in large numbers and support a vision of sustained development and inclusive governance,” he said.
Alebiosu further appealed to citizens to uphold peace, unity, and integrity before, during, and after the election, stressing that collective commitment to these values would help position Ekiti for greater achievements in the years ahead.
“Together, we can build on the achievements already recorded and position Ekiti State for even greater accomplishments in the years ahead,” he added.
