Abuja (Precise Post) – The Chief Executive Officer of Nilayo Sports, Bukola Olapade, has dismissed media reports that Super Eagles players were denied access from using the gym at the Eko Hotel camp base of the team during their workout session on Monday morning.
Recall the media outburst that Super Eagles were denied access to the gym B facilities at Eko hotel and suites where they are currently camping in preparation for their world cup qualifier cracker against Liberia on Friday.
The media reports stated that the management of the hotel took a decision to throw out the players who were beginning their preparation for the opening 2022 World Cup qualifier against Liberia on Friday, September 3, 2021, at the Teslim Balogun Stadium.
The former Ogun state Commissioner for Sports made the clarification on one of Nigeria’s popular WhatsApp Sports group, Sports Yarn Class (SYC) on Monday evening.
According to Olapade, “As I speak, my staff have been in that hotel for the past five days preparing all the logistics for the match just as we did with the Lesotho match”.
He explains further, “There was an issue at the gym, and the issue was because the Super Eagles wanted to train alone inside the gym., and, the Managing Director of the hotel was so training”. “But, the Chief Operating Officer of Nilayo got to the gym and settled the matter. And that’s done and dusted”.
“It shouldn’t be a big deal, it’s shouldn’t be a story that should be sectionalized”. “How can the hotel not allow the Super Eagles use the gym? It was an issue them (Eagles) being there alone because of COVID-19 provisions and other things”. “But, that has been resolved. So, everything they want to do one from now has been sorted and that’s the correct story, Olapade sounded”.Follow Us on Social Media for Latest news
