ABAKALIKI- The Ebonyi chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on the general public to ignore the purported suspension of its leaders in the state by some faceless individuals in the party.

Moses Idika, Director, Media and Publicity of “Anyi Ga-Emeya Movement” during the 2023 general elections made the remark in a statement issued to reporters in Abakaliki on Wednesday.

Idika said that the faceless individual had no locus standi nor any form of standing in the PDP.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the faction of the party through its Publicity Secretary, Mr Richard Nwali on Wednesday, announced the suspension of some of its leaders.

The suspended members and  leaders of the party in the state include: the 2023 Gubernatorial candidate, Chief Ifeanyi-Chukwuma Odii, his Deputy, Senator Paulinus Nwagu.

Others are: the Southeast National Vice Chairman, Mr Chidiebere Egwu; Party’s Legal Adviser,  Chief Mudi Erhenede, Mr Solomon Onwe and Mr Moses Idika.

Idika, in a statement, said that the announcement of the suspension was not from the party, noting that PDP in Ebonyi currently did not have a State Working Committee (SWC).

“The Attention of PDP in Ebonyi has been drawn to a statement by a faceless individual parading as “Publicity Secretary” PDP Ebonyi which stated that preeminent leaders of the party in the state have been suspended.

“For the avoidance of the doubt, the PDP in Ebonyi currently has no SWC, and therefore, cannot take any decision on behalf of the party.

“It will be recalled that the illegal congress organised by the former Southeast zonal Chairman of the party , Chief Ali Odefa has since been nullified.

“It was nullified via a well-considered judgement on suit no: FHC/AI/CS/183/2024 on Nov. 11, 2024.

“It is also instructive to note that the Federal High Court in Abuja while ruling on suit no: FHA/ FHC/ABJ/CS/2120/2025 on Oct. 31, 2025 further affirmed the nullification of the purported congress as well as the expulsion of Odefa from the PDP.

“We, therefore, call on the general public to ignore the purported suspension of leaders of the PDP in the state as the faceless individual has no locus standi nor any form of standing in the PDP.

“The PDP in the State is currently working with the National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP to fix appropriate date for the state Congresses as affirmed by the ruling of the Federal High Court, Abuja,” Idika stated.

Also reacting to the suspension, the Legal Adviser of the party,  Erhenede described it as null and void and disobedience to court judgement which nullified all the congress of the party conducted by the faction.

The legal adviser vowed to commit the faction group to prison for disobedience to the court judgement.

“I must tell you, this faction group does not exist in the eye of the law. What they did is purely contempt of the court,” Erhenede. (NAN)
