ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – Irked by the fake news making rounds on social media, the former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode on Thursday issued a fiery rebuttal, categorically denied any involvement, interest, or association with the Nigeria Football Association (NFA).
This coming against the backdrop of wave of false reports circulating on social media and shady blogs.
The explosive disclaimer issued on his X handle, comes after several platforms published fabricated quotes claiming FFK had expressed interest in contesting for the NFA Chairmanship and had allegedly stepped down to support another candidate.
“I know nothing about the NFA,” FFK declared. “I have no interest in the NFA or who leads it. I have no interest in football and, thankfully, I have not been approached or nominated for such a position by anyone, and if I had, I would have respectfully declined.”
Describing the rumours as “deeply insulting,” Fani-Kayode blasted the sources of the claims as “419 and criminal blogs,” urging them to “desist from doing so and leave me out of their mess.”
He further called on the public to treat any such reports with “extreme caution,” emphasizing that any official communication from him would only come from his verified platforms:
Website: femifanikayode.org
X (formerly Twitter): @realffk
Facebook & Instagram: Verified accounts only.
“Anything outside of these platforms is FAKE,” he said, stressing that the latest narrative is just another chapter in the growing plague of disinformation.
Precise Post recalls that in an era increasingly plagued by clickbait and false narratives, FFK’s statement serves as a stark reminder to verify sources and beware of digital propaganda with hidden agendas.
