ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – Akwa Ibom State Governor Pastor Umo Eno on Saturday led led a 104-member strong delegation of Akwa Ibom stakeholders, alongside the Senate President, Distinguished Godswill Akpabio, GCON, on a historic courtesy visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, at the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock.
Precise Post recalls that the delagation which cut across party lines, included political, traditional, and community leaders, demonstrated the unity and shared vision for the development of Akwa Ibom State.
During the visit, Governor Eno expressed their gratitude to the President for his support and presented three critical requests:
a. Ecological Disaster Mitigation: Urgent federal intervention to address devastating ecological challenges across Akwa Ibom, including a refund of billions spent on disaster management.
b. Ibom Deep Seaport: Federal backing to fast-track this game-changing project for jobs, trade, and economic growth.
c. Arise Resorts & Road Projects: An invitation for the President to commission these transformative projects in May 2025, turning erosion-ravaged areas into world-class destinations.
The Governor who disclosed this when he took to his X account on Saturday stated that these initiatives are key to driving economic growth and improving the lives of the people of Akwa Ibom. He sincerely thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in advance for granting these requests, as they are crucial to the development of Akwa Ibom State.
In his words: “I am deeply thankful to the Senate President for his kind words and for acknowledging the unity we have fostered in Akwa Ibom. This unity is the foundation of our progress.”
“He Specially thanked to the Deputy Governor, Senator Akon Eyakenyi, immediate past Governor Udom Emmanuel, CON, traditional rulers, religious leaders, youth and women representatives, and all who joined the historic visit. Adding that together, we are building a brighter future for Akwa Ibom.
Governor Eno urged the Ibomites to keep working together for the good of our state.
