BOSTON, USA (PRECISE POST) — Philanthropist and founder of the Chima Anyaso Foundation, Chima Desmond Anyaso, has announced a strategic partnership with Communitywide Charities USA to establish community food banks across the 13 wards of Bende Federal Constituency in Abia State.
The initiative, aimed at addressing growing food insecurity among vulnerable households, is expected to provide regular support to families facing economic hardship while strengthening community-based welfare systems across the constituency.
Announcing the partnership on Sunday via his X handle @ChimaAnyaso, Mr Anyaso said the project was conceived as a practical response to the increasing difficulty many families face in accessing basic food supplies.
According to him, the food bank programme is designed not only to provide relief but also to offer hope and reassurance to residents struggling with the effects of economic challenges.
“For many families, access to food has become increasingly difficult. This initiative is our response to that reality,” he said. “It is a commitment to ensuring that vulnerable individuals and families receive practical support, hope, and the reassurance that they are not alone.”
The philanthropist emphasized that effective leadership requires standing with the people during difficult periods and creating opportunities for meaningful intervention.
He noted that the partnership reflects a shared commitment to community development, adding that collaborative efforts between organizations can produce lasting social impact.
The agreement was reached following a meeting in Boston, Massachusetts, between Anyaso and Shola Muyide, Chief Executive Officer of Communitywide Charities USA and founder of Communitywide Grassroots Organisation Nigeria.
Anyaso commended the leadership of the U.S.-based charity for embracing a common vision centered on compassion, service, and community empowerment.
He expressed optimism that the initiative would improve the lives of residents across Bende Federal Constituency and provide much-needed relief to those most affected by economic hardship.
Precise Post recalls that the planned food banks are expected to serve as community support centres, helping to enhance food access and strengthen social welfare efforts throughout the constituency.
