Abuja (Precise Post) – National Chairman S.O.S Mandate group, Dr. Ibraheem Saka Ominiwe has warned Nigerians against criticising President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government blindly, saying its policy on Agriculture saved the country from famine.
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) disclosed this while speaking with newsmen in Ibadan on Tuesday.
The party chieftain said despite numerous challenges, the present government was the most focussed.
He said, “You can see improvement in our food security by substituting foreign produced food largely by locally produced foods which has led to conservation of our foreign reserves.
“By now we would have smell rats if not for improvement in local food production. COVID -19 has worsened things for nation’s across the world. If there was no robust policy on agriculture by Buhari- led administration Nigeria would have experienced famine.
“Secondly this is the government that have challenged corruption where judges, generals and perceived untouchables were been confronted in law courts though I agreed that we need to do more…
“Look at monumental development in our railway system which the past government claimed that Nigeria cannot afford new coaches”, he said.
According to him, the government of President Muhammadu Buhari has proved that wrong, noting that electricity generation had reached about 12 thousand megawatts, saying distribution was the problem.
He advised Nigerians that “when we are criticising let it be constructive and not myopic”.
