Abuja (Precise Post) – Former minister of Aviation, Femi Fani- Kayode has said that he is suspecting that Tolulope Arotile was murdered and the truth is being covered up.
He therefore urged the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar to investigate this matter thoroughly as much is being read into it and it does not augur well for the reputation of the Air Force.
Fani-Kayode disclosed this via twitter handle @realFFK on Saturday while reacting to the news of the death.
According to Fani-Kayode, “The death of the highly celebrated 23 year old helicopter pilot, Tolu Arotile, is sad and tragic. She was courageous and formidable in battle, doing much harm to Boko Haram. The idea that she was killed by being knocked down on the Airforce Base by her best friends car is nonsensical.
“Who is this best friend and what is his/her name? I suspect that Tolu was murdered and the truth is being covered up. I urge the Chief of Air Staff to investigate this matter thoroughly. So much is being read into it and it does not augur well for the reputation of the Air Force, he said.
Fani-Kayode who demanded that justice be done prayed that Tolu’s soul rests in peace and prayed Lord to comfort her parents and family.
Precise Post recalls that Tolutope, Nigeria’s First Female Combat Helicopter Pilot, was said to have died as a result of head injuries sustained from a road traffic accident at NAF Base Kaduna.
Until her death, Flag Officer Arotile, who was commissioned into the NAF in Sept 2017 as a member of HQ_NDA RC 64, was the first ever female combat helicopter pilot in the Service.
