ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday presented a ₦58.18 trillion 2026 Appropriation Bill to the National Assembly, describing it as a “Budget of Consolidation, Renewed Resilience and Shared Prosperity.”
Addressing the joint committee of the National Assembly, the President said the proposal reflects the administration’s effort to stabilise Nigeria’s economy while translating recent reforms into improved living standards.
According to the President, the budget is anchored on expected revenues of ₦34.33 trillion and a projected deficit of ₦23.85 trillion, representing 4.28 per cent of GDP. Capital expenditure accounts for ₦26.08 trillion, signalling a strong push toward infrastructure, productivity, and long-term growth.
Tinubu said the budget builds on economic gains already recorded, including declining inflation, improved oil production, rising non-oil revenues, and external reserves at a seven-year high of about $47 billion
