KANO – The Chairman of Kano State Multi Agency Task Force on Drug Abuse and Trafficking (MATFDAT), Mr Muhyi Magaji, has inaugurated nine sub-committees to strengthen the fight against drug abuse and trafficking in state.
Mr Lamara Garba, a member of the Task Force Media and Publicity Sub-Committee, made this known in a statement on Sunday in Kano.
He said the Chairman charged members of the committees to demonstrate greater commitment, dedication and determination in the discharge of their responsibilities.
Magaji reminded the sub-committee members of the enormity of the task before them, stressing that the success of the Task Force committee would depend largely on the seriousness and commitment with which each committee approached its assignment.
He further urged members to redouble their efforts, work collectively and remain focused on the objectives of the Task Force.
“The fight against drug abuse and trafficking requires sustained commitment, effective coordination and a shared sense of responsibility,” he said.
According to Magaji, the committees were established to provide a more coordinated and specialised approach to tackling the various dimensions of the drug problem.(NAN)
