ABUJA (PRECISE POST)  –   A prominent Kano South stakeholder, Kassim Ibrahim Bataiya, has highlighted the region’s vast economic potential and called for greater investment in key sectors to accelerate development and improve the welfare of the people.
Bataiya made the remarks during a meeting with members of the Kano South Progressive Forum, an association of indigenous leaders from Kano South residing in Abuja and engaged in various business activities across markets in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Bataiya who disclosed this on Friday via his X handle, said discussions at the meeting centered on practical strategies for driving sustainable development in Kano South through investments in agriculture, irrigation, power generation, education, and job creation.
He noted that Kano South possesses significant natural and economic resources that, if properly harnessed, could transform the region’s economy. Bataiya specifically pointed to the immense opportunities presented by the Tiga, Karaye, and Rogo dams, stressing the need for their effective utilization to boost agricultural productivity, enhance irrigation, and support broader economic growth.
The Kano South leader emphasized that achieving meaningful and sustainable development would require strong collaboration between government institutions and the private sector. Such partnerships, he said, are essential for creating economic opportunities, attracting investments, and improving the living standards of residents across the region.
Bataiya also urged Kano South indigenes living in Abuja and other parts of the country to remain law-abiding and contribute positively to society. He cautioned against involvement in criminal activities and encouraged citizens to embrace the values of hard work, honesty, and dedication in their daily pursuits.
He expressed optimism about the future of Kano South, praying for continued peace, progress, and prosperity in the region, Kano State, and Nigeria as a whole.
Bataiya further reaffirmed his support for the Kwankwasiyya Movement, describing it as a platform committed to promoting unity, development, and economic advancement for the people.
