KNSG ramps ups modernisation of motor parks

The Commissioner for Transportation, Haruna Dederi, disclosed this while addressing newsmen in Kano on Monday.

Dederi said the initiative was aimed  reforming and strengthening the sector, boosting economic growth and public safety.

He explained that already, a taskforce had been set up to halt the operations of illegal motor parks and enforce compliance with extant regulations, reducing congestion and improving orderliness.

According to him, th ministry is also tackling overloading of goods and passengers, a major contributor to recurring fatal road carnages.

Dederi, however, appealed to the public to support government’s efforts by obeying traffic regulations.( NAN)
