Man, 35, in Court for Allegedly Breaching Peace

Lagos. – A 35-year-old man, Hassan Bakare, on Monday appeared in an Ogudu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State for allegedly conducting himself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace.

Bakare, who resides at Alapere area of Lagos, is facing a count charge bordering on conduct likely to cause breach of peace.

The prosecutor, Insp. Lucky Ihiehie, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Nov.11 at Ovba Street, Alapere, Ketu.

Ihiehie said that defendant conducted himself in a manner to cause a breach of peace by collecting a mini bus with Registration number NSH 01 XJ from the complainant, Ransom Chimezie.

He also said the defendant refused to return the vehicle to the complainant along with money remitted from the use of the bus.

According to the prosecutor, the offence contravenes Sections 168(d) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 (Revised).

The Magistrate, Mrs Ejiro Kubeinje, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case until Feb. 2. for mention.

She ordered that the surety must be gainfully employed.
