Abuja (Precise Post) – The presidency has condoled with the families of the two pilots of the missing fighter jet, saying that their Prayers and thoughts are with them.
The presidential aide on social media, Lauretta Onochie who took to her twitter handle to extend the condolence of the government, reminded that the Nigeria Air Force has dismissed the Boko Haram’s claim of bringing down the missing fighter jet.
According to Onochie, it was the #HerdsMedia who are now #BokoHaramMedia, that freely disseminated the false claim.
The tweet attached with photos of the two pilots reads:
“The @NigAirForce has dismissed Boko Haram’s claim of bringing down the missing fighter jet
“The #HerdsMedia who are now #BokoHaramMedia, have freely disseminated the false claim
“Whatever has happened, Our Prayers & thoughts are with the 2 missing pilots & with their families too.
Precise Post recalls that the fighter jet with two crew members lost contact with radar around 5pm on Wednesday.
It was on an interdiction mission in support of ground troops in the ongoing counter-insurgency operations in Borno State, where Boko Haram is hottest.
Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Oladayo Amao visited Borno State where he was briefed on the incident.
Also Thursday, five soldiers and a Nigeria Security and Civil Defence (NSDC) personnel were feared killed by bandits who attacked two communities in Niger State.
