The Nigerian Army has confirmed with video evidence the neutralization of about 63 terrorists suspected to be Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters in Mallam Fatori, Abadam Local Government Area of Borno State.

According to DAILY POST reports, the assailants met their ends when they launched a coordinated attack in a bid to breach the 68 Battalion Main Defensive Area on Wednesday morning.

In a statement posted on its official X handle, the Nigerian Army Headquarters said the insurgents invaded the area from the Duguri on foot, supported by multiple armed drones but were successfully repelled by the troops.

The statement noted that the troops have “since commenced exploitation operations to pursue and eliminate the fleeing terrorists, while Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance platforms are being deployed to dominate the adversary’s withdrawal routes and prevent regrouping”.

In the video shared on X, several lifeless bodies of the terrorists could be seen lying at the scene.
