ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – Former Anambra State Governor and Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has lauded the Super Eagles following their emphatic 2–0 victory over Algeria, describing the performance as a powerful statement of Nigeria’s intent on the continental stage.
In a message shared after the encounter on his X handle @PeterObi on Saturday shortly after the match, Obi congratulated the national team for what he called a triumphant display against the Desert Warriors, noting that the win reflected the Eagles’ growing confidence and determination in the Africa Cup of Nations campaign.
He praised the team’s clinical finishing and rock-solid defensive organization, stressing that the performance brought joy to more than 200 million Nigerians who rallied behind the team across the country and in the diaspora.
According to Obi, the victory has reignited national hope and belief that the coveted AFCON trophy is firmly within reach.
He urged the players to sustain the momentum as they prepare for the semi-finals, emphasizing the need to remain focused, hungry, and united.
“The AFCON trophy is within reach. Keep the fire burning and take this momentum straight into the semi-finals,” Obi said, ending his message with a rousing call of support: “Up Nigeria!”
