Okada Ban Has Led to Reduction in Crime Rate in Asaba – Oborevwori

ABUJA – Delta State Governor, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has stated that that the ban on commercial motorcycles, popularly known as Okada, has led to a noticeable reduction in crime rates in Asaba and its environs.

He made this disclosure on Tuesday during a courtesy visit from the Forum of Female Permanent Secretaries, led by Dr. Mrs. Mininie Oseji, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Environment.

Governor Oborevwori who also praised the efforts of the Permanent Secretaries in achieving an excellent performance rating, urged them to continue supporting his MORE agenda. He assured them of efforts to create a conducive work environment and provide training opportunities for civil servants to enhance productivity.

Highlighting the gender balance in appointments, the Governor noted the state has 23 male and 17 female Permanent Secretaries and emphasized continued cooperation to achieve common goals. He also mentioned plans to improve mass transit solutions in Asaba and Warri following the Okada ban.

Governor Oborevwori reiterated his commitment to training and retraining civil servants, stating he would approve such initiatives when justified.
